This a continuation of my last two post about the problem we had with VPSByte and my clients vps hosting last Sept 23, 2008 which lasted for almost 48 hours. It is clear that VPSByte had some sort of network issues because a misconfiguration. We asked them several times what really happen but they won’t respond, as if nothing really happen, and up to now, it’s very hard to contact them by phone. They only respond to trouble tickets that you create, which takes at least 2 to 3 hours before they reply. Which is crazy, it was really a mistake when my client signed up for an account at VPSByte.Com, I already told him to go to Spry.com or VPSLink.Com for vps hosting, but they went for a cheaper price. Now, they realized that they got what they paid for. This is not the first time, there were other incidents like this in the past, and vpsbyte.com just keeps on failing to address this kind of issue. And another thing that i don’t like about this company aside fromt he very poor and very slow support response, they don’t even bother to notifiy their clients about an upcoming configuration, just recently, they posted this on their support site :

Due to numerous issues with XO Communications we are migrating all vps customers on 67.x.x.x ips. New ips have been assigned already – to access your new ips login to the vps manager and click the ip adresses tool. It will list your current ips plus your new ones. Starting September 15, 2008 most ips will be disabled.

They didn’t even think that their clients won’t go to their support site if they don’t have support issues, and what about their new clients, they shouldn’t expect for people to be looking at their support page 24 x 7. They didn’t send any email notification, what they did was very careless and It shows that they don’t plan, don’t they realized what it takes to reconfigure an ip address? They didn’t consider that when they change their clients ip address, the site will go down instantly, and the dns settings have to be modify, and how long does it take for a simple dns modification to get replicated on all dns servers all over the net, sometimes 12 hrs minimum, and at least 48 hrs max.

So if you want to loose time and money, sign up at VPSByte.
